19 Dec The Best Whiskey Pairing for Eggnog – Bon Appétit Magazine
It’s that time of the year, when eggnog shines with inventive spirits.
Check out Bon Appétit Magazine on how OTOTO Den‘s general manager spikes eggnog with the store-bought stuff! Great piece by Alyse Whitney.
“Eggnog and whiskey are a good pairing. Pour 2 oz. eggnog, ¾ oz Suntory Toki Whisky (a blend that’s available at a friendlier price point) and ¾ oz. Grand Marnier over ice and shake. Strain into a martini glass rimmed with Chinese five-spice and float a whole roasted star anise for garnish. Toki is a lighter style whiskey with a good amount of malt and vanilla notes which pair well with the ‘nog. Toss in the bright orange flavor of Grand Marnier—you can substitute Triple Sec—along with the sweetness of the ‘nog and you have a drink that goes down way too easily. —Martin Hammer, general manager of OTOTO in Denver.
